World Languages

ACTFL is the American Council of the Teaching of Foreign Languages.  Students participating in online testing and an oral proficiency interview can earn up to five (5) semesters of language credit.  Visit the ACTFL website for a full list of available languages.  Tests are administered by the Language Testing Institute (LTI) on behalf of ACTFL. The test is divided into two parts:

    1. ACTFL Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) or ACTFL Oral Proficiency Interview by Computer (OPIc)
    2. ACTFL Written Proficiency Test (WPT)

Students must take both the oral and the written parts of the test in order to receive CCSD credit in foreign language. In cases where the ratings differ between the two tests, credit will be awarded based on the lower of the two ratings. Credits will be issued based on the prof. level demonstrated on the OPI and the WPT.
